If you have curly hair, you know that one-size-fits-all haircuts don’t work. Curly hair needs a customized approach—and that starts before you even sit in my chair. Here’s exactly how to come prepared for your curly cut appointment and what you can expect during your visit.
Come in on Your Best Curly Hair Day
For a curly cut, I want to see your hair styled naturally and worn curly—just like you wear it day to day.
• Wear your curls dry, styled, and fully defined
• Avoid buns, ponytails, braids, or stretching the curls beforehand
• Use your normal products and styling routine
Seeing your curls in their natural state allows me to cut curl by curl, trimming exactly where your hair needs it based on how your curls live and move.
I Cut to the Curl—Not Against It
Every curl has its own personality. By cutting your hair while it’s dry and styled first, I can:
• Shape your haircut to your natural curl pattern
• Remove bulk where needed

• Enhance definition and balance
• Avoid over-cutting or uneven shrinkage
This is how we create curls that fall beautifully without fighting them.
The Wash Experience (Yes, It’s Luxurious)
After your initial curl-by-curl cut, you’ll move to the shampoo bowl where you’ll enjoy:
• A relaxing shampoo and conditioner
• A head and neck massage (because you deserve it)
Wet Cut + Final Detailing
If needed, I’ll refine the haircut while the hair is wet to ensure everything blends seamlessly. Then we’ll:
• Style your curls
• Diffuse or air dry
• Finish with final detailing and trimming once your curls are set
This step ensures your cut looks amazing both wet and dry—and that it grows out beautifully.
Why This Process Matters
Curly hair behaves differently than straight hair, and cutting it correctly requires intention, experience, and respect for the curl. This method allows me to create a cut that:
• Enhances your natural texture
• Requires less daily styling
• Grows out softer and more balanced
Ready for Your Curly Cut?
If you’re ready for a haircut that works with your curls—not against them—be sure to come in wearing your curls styled and ready. Trust the process, and I’ll take care of the rest ✨
